聚丙烯纤维的密度
（1）质轻
(1) Light weight
聚丙烯纤维的密度为0.90-0.92 g/cm3，在所有化学纤维中是最轻的，比锦纶轻20%，比涤纶轻30%，比粘胶纤维轻40%，因此很适合做冬季服装的絮填料或滑雪服、登山服等的面料。

Polypropylene fiber has high strength (same in dry and wet state) and is an ideal material for fishing nets and cables; it has good wear resistance and resilience, similar strength to polyester and nylon, and its resilience can be comparable to that of nylon and wool, much larger than that of polyester and viscose fibers; polypropylene fiber has poor dimensional stability, easy pilling and deformation, microbial resistance and no moth; and chemical resistance is better than that of ordinary fibers.

聚丙烯纤维电阻率很高（7×1019Ω.cm），导热系数小，与其他化学纤维相比，丙纶的电绝缘性和保暖性最好，但加工时易产生静电。
Polypropylene fibers have high resistivity (7 x 1019_. cm) and low thermal conductivity. Compared with other chemical fibers, polypropylene fibers have the best electrical insulation and warmth retention, but they are prone to static electricity during processing.
（4）耐热及耐老化性能差

聚丙烯纤维的熔点低（165~173℃），对光和热的稳定性差，所以，丙纶的耐热性、耐老化性差，不耐熨烫。但可以通过在纺丝时加入防老化剂来提高其抗老化性能。
Polypropylene fibers have low melting point (165 ~ 173 C) and poor stability to light and heat. Therefore, polypropylene fibers have poor heat resistance, aging resistance and ironing resistance. But the anti-aging property can be improved by adding anti-aging agent in spinning.
（5）吸湿性及染色性差

聚丙烯纤维的吸湿性和染色性在化学纤维中是最差的，几乎不吸湿，其回潮率小于0.03%。细旦丙纶具有较强的芯吸作用，水汽可以通过纤维中的毛细管来排除。制成服装后，服装的舒适性较好，尤其是超细丙纶纤维，由于表面积增大，能更快地传递汗水，使皮肤保持舒适感。由于纤维不吸湿且缩水率小，丙纶织物具有易洗快干的特点。
The hygroscopicity and dyeability of polypropylene fibers are the worst among chemical fibers. It hardly absorbs moisture and its moisture regain is less than 0.03%. Fine denier polypropylene fibers have strong wicking effect, and water vapor can be eliminated by capillaries in the fibers. After making clothes, the comfort of clothes is better, especially the superfine polypropylene fibers. Because of the increase of surface area, sweat can be transmitted more quickly and skin can maintain comfort. Because the fibers do not absorb moisture and shrinkage is small, polypropylene fabric has the characteristics of easy washing and quick drying.
丙纶的染色性较差，颜色淡，染色牢度差。普通燃料均不能使其染色，有色丙纶多数是采用纺前着色生产的。可采用原液着色、纤维改性，在熔融纺丝前掺混燃料络合剂。
